CLASS DESCRIPTION


TAI CHI:

Slow and gentle movement that promotes healing and reduces stress.
Classes: Beginners $5.00/hour - Advanced $10.00/hour

Qi-Gong (Chee-Gong):
Slow moving gentle Chinese exercises that help the body to relax, heal, and reduce stress.
Classes $5.00/hour

STRESS MANAGEMENT:
An introduction to basic wholistic stress management. Class includes signs of stress and ways to reduce stress and promote wellness.

YOGA/MEDITATION:
Teaching basic yoga asanas with deep breathing and meditation. This class will help develop muscle flexibility and strength while producing an overall sense of wellness. The result will be better health and a stronger immune system.

STRUCTURING SELF MANAGEMENT/ANGER MANAGEMENT:
Improves self control, anger management and problem solving skills. Techniques learned can increase positive communication at home or at work. Class includes topics on stress and anger management and conflict resolution.
Developed for individuals who are mandated to attend.

What is Spring Forest Qi Gong?  SFQ is an advanced, simple and powerful form of qigong.  Master Chunyi Lin created Spring Forest Qigong so that everyone could have the opportunity to experience that we are all born with the ability to help heal ourselves and others to heal. SFQ is a simple, slow moving and gentle exercise that includes breathing and relaxation for helping you heal physical and emotional pain and to enhance the quality of your life and the lives of others. These exercises help reduce stress and disease and increase your health and well being.

ParentWise Parenting Program(PWPP) Training of Trainers(TOT) Seminar


Participants will learn to build on and increase the strength and stability of families, and increase parent confidence and competence in their parenting abilities and increase their knowledge of child abuse and neglect.
This training is designed for administrators, coordinators and others. This workshop is ideal for any agency who wishes to have skilled staff on-site available to train parents and clients on the PWPP model. Participants will recieve the trainer's manual.

Wholistic Stress Management Two-Day Training

Workshop Description

This certification workshop is designed to train health educators and other professionals in the wholistic approach to stress managment and how to teach, direct, facilitate presentations/workshops at their worksites or in their community settings. The focus of this workshop is wholistic-honoring the integregation, balance and harmony of mind, body and spirit for optimum well-being. The workshop will cover wholistic stress management, prevention and intervention approaches for children/youth and adults.

The purpose of this workshop is to: 1) gain a sound background in wholistic approaches to stress levels, 2) share a variety of effective relaxation techniques which will include, but not limited to, deep breathing, pressure points, positive thinking, affirmation, visualization, muscle tension and relaxation, color sensitivity, Qi Chong/Tai Chi and Yoga, biofeedback, music and aromatherapy, 3) increase one's ability to train on anger and conflict management and trigger points and diffussion techniques, and 4) refine excellent training skills in which to share this knowledge most effectively in a variety of settings. 1.6 CEU's

From 285
If traveling 285N, take Cascade Exit (#5), turn right. If traveling 285S, take Cascade Exit and turn left. You will pass Kroger's on the left. Continue for about 1.0 mile to Willis Mill Road and make a left turn. Continue to second stop sign and you will see the Hoosier United Methodist Church Building upstairs. Parking is available in the rear of the Church.
Follow the signs upstairs to WSCI offices.

From 1-20W
Take I-20W to Cascade and Langhorn Exit(#8)and turn left. Go down two lights and make a right on to Ralph D. Abernathy which turns into Cascade Rd. Proceed about 2.5 miles and fork off to your right onto Benjamim E. Mays Drive. (you will see Providence Methodist Church; fire station) Travel until you see Hoosier United Methodist Church on the right hand side. WSCI is located in the Hoosier Church Building upstairs. Parking is available in the rear of the Church.
Follow signs upstairs to WSCI.

Traveling Using Train and/or Bus.
If traveling on the train going East, West or North bound transfer at Five Points Station to the South bound train going towards the Airport. Get off at West End train station and go down stairs and take the #71 Cascade (bus).

CROSSING. Ask the bus driver to let you off at Providence Church on the corner of Cascade Road and Benjamin E. Mays Drive. Walk about 1/4 of a mile down Benjamin E. Mays Drive towards Hoosier United Methodist Church on the corner of Willis Mill Road and Benjamin E. Mays Drive.
